Wayne Rooney shares what he noticed about Jack Grealish after seeing Everton star this week

Jack Grealish has no doubt had a flying start to his Everton career.

Since joining on loan from Manchester City, the winger has already picked up four assists in just three Premier League matches.

Grealish was excellent against Wolves and played a key role in Everton picking up three points.

While the 30-year-old was somehow not selected for England, this has not stopped plaudits from praising the Toffees loanee this week, with Wayne Rooney the latest to get in on the action.

Wayne Rooney: Not playing at Man City was difficult for Jack Grealish

While Rooney may have retired and moved on from Everton, this has not stopped the England legend from being associated with the Toffees.

Rooney had previously praised Grealish for his work ethic after the 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Now, as the Toffees wait for the international break to finish, the former Aston Villa star threw a party for his 30th birthday.

Rooney was invited and was quick to praise Grealish’s personality after his hardship at Man City, noticing he was clearly in a good place again, via the Liverpool Echo.

“Jack’s a really kind-hearted person and I don’t think that comes across as much as it probably should,” Rooney said on his BBC podcast, the Wayne Rooney Show on 8 September.

“He’s got a big heart, he’s very respectful, and I think not playing at Manchester City was very difficult for him; I know it was.

“But going to Everton, he’s at a club where he’s going to get the time and space to enjoy his football and he’s started very well and hopefully that continues. He is just getting back playing and enjoying his football, that is the main thing for him.”

Jack Grealish could be one of Everton’s best-ever signings

For years now, Everton have been struggling near the bottom half of the Premier League, narrowly avoiding relegation.

However, with the addition of Grealish in their side, the Toffees are clearly on the up and could well qualify for Europe this season.

If this comes about, Grealish, who Everton have the option to sign for £50million, could be one of their best-ever signings.

Qualifying for a European competition is a must if the Toffees want to become a major force again, and the winger could be the key to achieving this.

Hopefully, Grealish will be able to continue his rich form on Saturday when Everton face Aston Villa at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
