Kieran Maguire issues clarity on latest Friedkin Group move at Everton
The Friedkin Group have made a significant financial move at Everton in the last few days.
The American ownership has raised £46million through the issue of new shares, and Kieran Maguire believes it is a cash injection, rather than a debt issue.
Speaking on the Rest is Football on 11 September, he said: “The Friedkin Group have had a good start. Everton have had a decent start to the season.
“Jack Grealish is on fire, and there is a feel-good factor around the club as well.
“It looks as if they have put in around about £45million. That will provide working capital, and this is more likely to be a cash injection rather than a debt issue.”
John Stones told to return to Everton
John Stones has been urged to return to Everton, nine years after leaving the Merseyside club.
Former Goodison Park scout Bryan King believes that the Blues could seal a return for the Manchester City star by offering a hefty signing-on fee.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “I think it would be a good move for him to return to Everton.
“I was involved in bringing him to Everton. I was one of the scouts who looked at him.
“He’s a very smart footballer, and he could certainly do an excellent job for Moyes again.
“If he’s going to go anywhere from Manchester City, then he’s going to have to take a pay cut. That’s one of the things that he’s going to have to accept.
“He won’t get that money at Everton, but what he would get if he were a free transfer is a very good signing-on fee.”
