John Stones told to return to Everton as David Moyes offers wage compromise
John Stones’ future at Manchester City is currently uncertain.
While the centre-back continues to remain a key player at the Etihad, his contract is currently set to expire next summer.
Therefore, with no current deal on the horizon, the England international is currently set to become a free agent in less than a year.
Given the CV of the 31-year-old, he will not be short of suitors, with Everton previously being linked to Stones in the transfer window.
Now, David Moyes has been told how to seal the deal for the Man City star next summer.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Everton scout Bryan King.
Bryan King: Everton need to offer John Stones a big signing-on fee
If Everton do want to re-sign Stones, it could be a tricky deal to complete.
The defender continues to play regularly at the Etihad and could easily win another trophy this season.
On top of this, Stones currently earns £250,000-a-week at Man City, meaning a pay cut would likely be needed if he were to move to Everton.
However, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, believes that Moyes could seal the deal if a big signing-on fee is included for Stones.
- Stones made 95 appearances for Everton in all competitions
- The centre-back moved to Manchester City in 2016
- Stones has gone on to have a sensational career and has won the Premier League six times
“I think it would be a good move for him to return to Everton,” King said.
“I was involved in bringing him to Everton. I was one of the scouts who looked at him.
“He’s a very smart footballer, and he could certainly do an excellent job for Moyes again.
“If he’s going to go anywhere from Manchester City, then he’s going to have to take a pay cut. That’s one of the things that he’s going to have to accept.
“He won’t get that money at Everton, but what he would get if he were a free transfer, is a very good signing-on fee.”

Who are Everton’s current highest earners?
According to Capology on 11 September, Jordan Pickford is currently Everton’s highest earner, who has a permanent contract.
The goalkeeper is making £125,000-a-week at the Toffees, with Idrissa Gueye and Jarrad Branthwaite both in second, earning £120,000-a-week.
However, if Pickford gets a contract extension at Everton, the goalkeeper would likely get a pay rise.
Therefore, if Stones is brought in, even with a wage cut, he would likely be in and around these stars in terms of earnings.
