Sublime Jack Grealish has just done something no Everton player’s managed in five years

Jack Grealish has rightly earned the plaudits for his magnificent start at Everton.

Since joining Manchester City on loan, the winger has already picked up four assists in three Premier League games.

This has proved to be vital for the Toffees, with Grealish’s fantastic performance against Wolves being a key factor in picking up three points.

Now, with domestic football set to restart again after the international break, the 30-year-old has continued to receive recognition for this early-season form.

Jack Grealish wins August Premier League Player of the Month Award

It came as no surprise last week when Grealish was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month.

However, up against Riccardo Calafiori, Hugo Ekitike, Marc Guehi, Erling Haaland, Joao Pedro, Antoine Semenyo and Dominik Szoboszlai, it was going to be a tough task to win the award.

Nevertheless, the winger has overcome this task, with Everton confirming via their official website on 12 September that Grealish has won the Premier League Player of the Month Award for August.

This is the first time that an Everton player has won since September 2020, almost exactly five years ago, when Dominic Calvert-Lewin came out on top for his five goals that month.

Jack Grealish speechless after winning award

After hitting 30 years old earlier this month, it has no doubt been a good few weeks for the Man City loanee.

Nevertheless, on Friday, things clearly got better for the winger when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall presented the award to a speechless Grealish, who was clearly happy to win.

He said: “Thank you mate. That’s my first one, I actually thought then you were winding me up.

“You helped me out in the last game with the assist, but I’m speechless to be fair.”

Therefore, Grealish is clearly on the right track to get back into the England squad ready for the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
