James Tarkowski ‘absolutely furious’ with Morgan Rogers incident in Everton draw vs Aston Villa
Everton were held to a 0-0 draw by Aston Villa on Saturday.
David Moyes‘ side hosted the Villans at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, looking for their third win in four Premier League matches.
Everton frontman Beto missed several chances, and the Toffees never found the breakthrough despite pushing hard.
Everton’s in-form man, Jack Grealish, could not bag his first goal or assist against his former club, as it ended goalless on Merseyside.

James Tarkowski spotted in furious moment in Everton vs Aston Villa
Tarkowski was part of an unchanged defence for Everton in a contest that was crucial for their European ambitions.
Tarkowski had a foul given against him when he appeared to get the ball, but there was a follow-through on Morgan Rogers.
Troy Deeney was baffled by the incident, speaking on talkSPORT on 13 September (15:22 pm), he said: “Simon Hooper has got this one terribly wrong, Morgan Rogers has turned in, and as he has turns in, Tarkowski has lined him up.
“Great tackle, wins the ball back, Everton on the frontfoot, somehow brings it back for a foul.”
Co-host Matt Jones witnessed Tarkowski’s reaction to the incident, saying: “James Tarkowski is now walking away from Simon Hooper and he looks absolutely furious with the decision that has went against him team.”

Morgan Rogers and James Tarkowski tensions could be reignited in England squad
Tarkowski will be hoping to be in contention for the England squad for the 2026 World Cup, although it is an unlikely possibility, given his circumstances.
He has been capped twice by the Three Lions, but his last appearance came in September 2018 in a 1-0 win against Switzerland.
- Tarkowski made his England debut in a 1-1 draw against Italy in March 2018
- He as not appeared for his country in seven years
- Rogers has made the last eight England squads, and looks set to be a key asset in the future
He has been a rock at the back for the Blues, and has been even better in Moyes’ side, but whether Thomas Tuchel will take notice, remains to be seen.
It seems more likely that Jarrad Branthwaite will be selected over his Toffees teammate, as Tarkowski’s impact often goes under the radar.
If he is somehow selected, which does not seem like a realistic possibilty given his years in the wilderness, the tensions with Rogers may be reignited in the camp, although, it will probably be forgotten about by then, after the sides shared a point.
