Everton star Jack Grealish did something for just second time in his career vs Aston Villa

Jack Grealish continued his fine form for Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, but could not earn his team the three points.

Despite the winger’s efforts, Everton drew 0-0 to Aston Villa, with Michael Keane going closest when his powerful header was tipped onto the bar by Emiliano Martinez.

The visitors spent much of the game under huge pressure, but David Moyes’ side could not find a way past the Argentine shot-stopper.

Grealish was praised for his performance against Villa, with the winger continuing to thrive since making the loan switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

After four assists in his first three appearances, Grealish was awarded the Premier League player of the month award for August.

Jack Grealish matches career record vs Aston Villa

Grealish enjoyed a touching moment with the Villa fans following Saturday’s match, but the winger looked set on downing his former side during the contest.

The winger was a constant threat on the left, running at Matty Cash time after time and delivering several dangerous balls into the box.

The 30-year-old created the game’s biggest opportunity when his cross was met by Keane, but Martinez was equal to the defender’s effort.

And Grealish could have scored himself, too, the Villa goalkeeper saving with his legs to push away the England international’s half-volleyed strike.

Everton ultimately ended the game having levelled 20 shots at the Villa goal, with three big chances also coming and going for the home side.

Grealish had a direct hand in seven of those shots, and also matched a career high of his own in the match.

Against Villa, the winger registered 16 touches in the opposition box – the joint-highest of his career, on par with a match also played against the Villans in March 2024.

Jack Grealish is proving an unstoppable force for Everton

Everton’s Premier League opponents will be well aware of the impact Grealish has had at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 30-year-old will be a topic of discussion in the pre-match analysis, and coaches around the league will be devising plans to stifle the winger’s danger.

Villa did, often placing two men on the England international in an attempt to stop Everton getting the ball to him.

The bad news for the Premier League will be that the tactics did not work. Grealish, right now, appears to represent an unstoppable force for the Toffees.
