Alan Myers reveals what Farhad Moshiri told him about Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Farhad Moshiri has opened up on his feelings about Everton’s new stadium.
Everton have now played two times at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with one win and a draw against Brighton and Aston Villa.
Moshiri was spotted ahead of Everton’s pre-season clash with Roma, despite not being the Blues’ owner anymore.
Moshiri sold his stakes to the Friedkin Group in December 2024, after years of tumultuous ownership, and the Blues are thriving at the moment.

Farhad Moshiri reveals true feelings on Everton’s new stadium
Moshiri’s new stadium dream for Everton has been realised, and he was in attendance for the 0-0 draw against Villa on 13 September.
Alan Myers revealed what Moshiri told him at the Villa clash in a column for Everton News on 15 September.
The British-Iranian businessman said: “It is such a pleasure to be here for a league game and to see the stadium come to life.
“It means a lot to see the smiles on the fans’ faces, they make it a special place, and it’s wonderful to see the club thriving under the stewardship of David Moyes and the ownership of TFG.
“I’m really pleased.”

Moshiri’s legacy could be new stadium at Everton
Moshiri is ultimately the man who pushed to deliver the new stadium for the Toffees, which potentially hampered the financial state of the Merseysiders.
It was not helped that they spent tons of money on average players on the pitch, but the stadium was a huge financial commitment, which certainly did not help the financial issues that the club had.
His time in the boardroom is mainly associated with chaos, points deductions and relegation battles, but it could be shaped by the new ground.
- Everton finished in the bottom half four times in Moshiri’s reign
- They suffered two points deductions for financial issues
- Survived relegation by two points in the 2022-23 campaign
- Moshiri’s 94.4% stake in Everton was taken over by TFG in December 2024, ending his association with the Blues
If David Moyes takes the Blues to success under the new ownership, and the stadium helps bring the club to a new level of financial health, with the revenues that it generates, it could redefine Moshiri’s legacy in the long term.
He will not be loved on the blue half of Merseyside, but he delivered on his plan with a state-of-the-art ground and potentially aided the club with excess financial means in the future, which could change how he is remembered.
