Jordan Pickford wishes clear as update emerges on Everton contract talks
Everton are keen to tie Jordan Pickford down to a new contract, with the 31-year-old’s current terms set to expire in 2027.
Pickford equalled Gordon Bank’s record for successive England clean sheets when Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Serbia, and the goalkeeper will have the chance to break the record against Latvia next month.
The former Sunderland man is established among England and the Toffees’ most important players, and decision-makers at the Hill Dickinson Stadium are keen to reward him.
Pickford is not set to be offered a significant pay rise by Everton, who want to to tie down the England international whilst protecting their wage structure.
The goalkeeper kept another clean sheet on Saturday, as Everton drew 0-0 with Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Everton advance in Jordan Pickford talks
Securing Pickford’s future is a priority for Everton, with the Toffees not wanting to risk losing their goalkeeper in 2027.
The England international has become a Toffees staple since his arrival from Sunderland in 2017, making 323 Premier League appearances so far.
Should the 31-year-old sign his new contract, he will have a great chance of becoming Everton’s record Premier League appearance maker, with Seamus Coleman currently holding the record with 370.

And good progress is being made in contract talks with Pickford, it was reported by The Bobble via X on Monday.
The Toffees insider reported that Everton are advancing in talks with the goalkeeper over a new contract, with the number one keen to commit his long term future at the club.
This comes at a time when Pickford is looking as strong as ever in goal for Everton.
Indeed, as highlighted by Sofascore, Pickford has shipped just three goals in four matches this season, keeping a clean sheet in half of those appearances.
Pickford is averaging 2.25 saves per game and has prevented 0.89 goals so far this campaign.

Jordan Pickford writing himself into the history books
Everton have enjoyed the presence of many legends throughout their history, including the great goalkeeping force of Neville Southall.
The former England international made 750 appearances for the Toffees between the years of 1981 and 1998, and won the First Division twice.
Pickford has some way to go to match the Everton legend’s career, but the fact the two are being mentioned in the same breath at some regularity should serve as a massive compliment.
The 31-year-old is well on his way to be remembered in the history books for both Everton and England.
