Jordan Pickford’s new Everton contract terms revealed as TFG involved in negotiations

Jordan Pickford’s contract situation has been a major talking point for weeks at Everton.

The England international only has two years left on his deal, with fears that he could soon leave Hill Dickinson Stadium.

As a result, Everton have been keen to tie Pickford down to a new contract, with news of this breaking over the international break.

Now, additional details of these negotiations have emerged as David Moyes looks to get the deal done.

Everton not set to offer Jordan Pickford a significant wage increase

It had been expected that Pickford would receive a pay rise at Everton if the deal were to go through.

However, according to talkSPORT on 15 September, the goalkeeper is not to receive a significant wage increase.

The article states that while informal negotiations have begun, The Friedkin Group, who are involved in negotiations, want to stick to their current wage structure.

Pickford, who is currently on £120,000-a-week, is reportedly still keen on signing fresh terms, with Everton set to compromise.

Instead, the Toffees will offer “incentive-driven” contracts that could become more lucrative if they qualify for Europe.

Can Jordan Pickford guide Everton into Europe?

As it stands, there is nothing to suggest that England’s number one cannot lead the Toffees to Europe.

Pickford has already had an excellent start with Everton this campaign, and kept another clean sheet against Aston Villa.

If the Toffees are to return to their former glory days, they need players like the goalkeeper in their squad to be the difference-makers in close games.

Hopefully, given the start that Everton have already had to their season, Pickford can achieve this in the current campaign, and return the Merseyside club to the promised land.
