What Arne Slot has said about Alexander Isak ahead of Everton clash
Liverpool star Alexander Isak will be the centre of attention as they prepare to face Everton.
Everton head into the Anfield contest after a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, while Isak did not feature in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Burnley.
Everton will be looking for another memorable performance at Liverpool’s stadium, such as Phil Jagielka’s screamer in 2014 or their first win in 22 years there in 2021.
If Isak is on the pitch for the clash, they may struggle, as he is one of the most dangerous strikers in world football.

Arne Slot may not rush Alexander Isak into Liverpool vs Everton
Everton signed Merlin Rohl on loan on deadline day, as the Reds broke the bank to sign the then Newcastle forward for £125million.
However, he did not have much of a pre-season after not taking part in the Magpies’ tour of Asia with an apparent injury, and then he refused to play to try and force a move through.
Therefore, Arne Slot is going to slowly build his new star man into match fitness, which means he may not make his debut against the Blues.
Speaking after the victory at Turf Moor on 14 September, the Dutchman said: “We got him from Newcastle in a state where you could say his pre-season is going to start now.
“He needs proper minutes of training before he has a certain base, let alone for him to play twice in three days.
“So that’s what we do, we try to prepare players for the beginning of the season once a week, and then we try to do more and more and more before we go into the rhythm of two games a week, so that they are ready for that schedule.”

Everton will not want Alexander Isak to be fit for Liverpool match
Anfield is a tough ground for the Toffees to go to at the best of times, and they are even more lethal with Isak in the side.
He is one of the best attackers in the game, and can score from any situation, which would give the Blues’ defence problems, especially without England defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
- Isak featured 109 times for Newcastle
- He scored 62 goals and 11 assists in those matches
- He got 23 goals and six assists last season in the league
If Isak does not play, Moyes will fancy his chances of getting a result after a positive start to the campaign, which has seen the Blues go unbeaten in their last three league games.
If he does, then the Hill Dickinson Stadium may have a very tough task on their hands, to get a result against their Merseyside rivals with a £125m striker up top.
