Dwight McNeil situation deteriorates, he could be on his way out of Everton in January
Dwight McNeil has fallen out of favour at Everton this season.
The winger has been a regular at the Toffees since his move from Burnley in 2022.
However, with Jack Grealish proving to be a star at Everton, McNeil has seen his game time limited.
So far this campaign, the 25-year-old has only played two matches, with one coming in the Carabao Cup.
Now, the long-term future of the winger remains in doubt at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Everton scout Bryan King.
Ian Darke: Dwight McNeil will likely move on in January
McNeil was tipped to leave Everton in the summer, but remained at the Toffees as the window slammed shut.
This was no doubt a surprise to many, given Everton’s signing of Grealish.
Now, with the winger struggling to even get minutes off the bench in the Premier League, Bryan King has exclusively told Goodison News that he believes McNeil will probably move on in January.
- McNeil joined Everton in 2022 from Burnley
- The winger has made 105 appearances for the Toffees since
- McNeil has only started one match so far this season
“If he’s not going to be used in the first team, then for him, it’s not a good situation,” King said.
“He might go on loan until the end of the season when January comes around, or if an offer comes in for him, then he would probably move on.
“You never know in football, injuries come along and things like that.
“Anybody who’s looking at playing in that wide left position is going to be struggling, because if Grealish is fit, then he’ll play.”

David Moyes should keep hold of Dwight McNeil
While he may not be getting minutes at the moment, McNeil has proven to be a reliable winger for Everton.
Overall, he has played just over 100 times for the Toffees, averaging a goal contribution almost every three matches.
While he shouldn’t be starting every week, he is an excellent option from the bench and during the cups.
Hopefully, David Moyes will give the 25-year-old move minutes during the upcoming matches to keep him happy.
