Everton news round-up: Compensation case to begin as shock appointment predicted
Everton fans will be counting down the days before the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
David Moyes has an abysmal record against Liverpool at Anfield, with the Scot hoping Saturday’s clash can mark his first-ever win at the home of the Toffees’ biggest rivals.
Alternatively, Jack Grealish has a superb record of registering goal contributions against the Reds, and will hope to continue his positive start to the season.
Here, Goodison News rounds up all of the latest news from the last 24 hours.

Supercomputer predicts tough day for Everton vs Liverpool
Everton will be expecting a difficult match against Liverpool, with Arne Slot’s side having won their opening four games of the Premier League season.
But the Toffees have started well, too, and will be hoping to stifle the home side’s attack.
Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye are expected to engage in key battles with Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, respectively, with the latter facing a tough start to his time at Anfield.
Everton have a narrow chance of beating Liverpool, according to a supercomputer, placing just a 12.3 per cent chance of an away victory on Saturday.
Liverpool have been given a 71.3 per cent chance of walking away with the three points, whilst there is a 16.4 per cent chance of the points being shared.

Sean Dyche tipped for shock appointment
Sean Dyche’s time at Everton will be remembered differently depending on which fan you talk to.
The former Burnley manager kept the Toffees safe from relegation but often failed to go further than that, leaving Everton floating around the drop zone once again when he was relieved of his duties.
But the 54-year-old has now been tipped to take on a very different, and arguably more difficult, task.
Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy suggested that Dyche could take the Manchester United job during their talkSPORT show on Monday, with Ruben Amorim facing the sack after a poor start to the season.
Burnley seek compensation from Everton as case begins
Burnley’s case for compensation against Everton is set to start this week, with the club reportedly seeking £50million-plus.
The Toffees finished four points above the Clarets in the 2021/22 season, with the North West club suffering relegation from the Premier League in 18th place.
Premier League 2021/22 | Points |
16. Everton | 39 |
17. Leeds United | 38 |
18. Burnley | 35 |
19. Watford | 23 |
20. Norwich City | 22 |
Burnley claim that Everton, who were deducted six points in 2023, gained a sporting advantage to survive the drop by breaching PSR rules over three years. The case will begin in London this week.
