Beto has weeks left to save Everton career after what he has done under David Moyes

Beto is a star at Everton who certainly divides opinions.

The striker was awful at the Toffees until David Moyes’ arrival, where the Scotsman has seemingly revived his career.

However, after a purple patch in the 2024/25 campaign, the Guinea-Bissau international has struggled for goals.

So far this season, the attacker has only netted one in the Premier League, with Beto being terrible against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Now, time could be running out to prove to Moyes that he is capable of leading the line at the Toffees.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Everton scout Bryan King.

Bryan King: Beto has until December to prove he should stay at Everton

Beto was heavily linked away from Everton in the summer, with Leeds interested.

However, the striker has remained at the Toffees and has already played in four of the first five matches in all competitions.

Yet, in many of these, he has not impressed, with Bryan King now believing that Beto has until December to prove himself to Moyes.

“He’s been getting into the right positions. It’s just what happens with centre forwards sometimes,” King said.

“I thought the service into him wasn’t exactly 100 per cent on Saturday, and centre forwards need balls in the box.

“He scored important goals last year. I think you’ve got to look at it and say let’s assess in December and see how he’s doing.”

Everton should look to hold onto Beto

While Beto may be going through a sticky patch at the moment, the striker still possesses quality.

This has already been on show this season, with the Beto netting against both Wolves and Mansfield.

Sofascore backs this up, with the attacker having good attacking stats from the last 12 months.

Therefore, while the Toffees need to target a striker than can consistently score for the Merseyside club, having Beto as a back-up would be ideal.

From the bench, the Guinea-Bissau international is more than capable of finding the net, which could help Everton pick up multiple vital points.
