Liverpool vs Everton postponement update as Met Office issue new weather warning for Merseyside Derby

Everton fans are no doubt excited for the impending Merseyside derby against Liverpool on Saturday.

With the showdown set to take place at Anfield, anticipation is high for the clash, with a real hope that the Toffees can get something from the game.

Everton’s early-season form has been fantastic, as the Merseyside club currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.

However, with David Moyes’ awful record at Anfield, it could still be a big ask for the Toffees to get a result.

Now, Everton could face problems ahead of the match, with the weather now coming into play.

Met Office issues yellow rain warning for Liverpool vs Everton

While the weather had not expected to be a problem for Everton’s tie against Liverpool, this now appears to have changed.

On the Met Office’s website on 18 September, it was confirmed that most of the UK has a yellow weather warning for rain.

Liverpool is one of these areas affected, with the website warning that there is a slight chance of power cuts, flooding and flooding.

For any fans travelling to Anfield, this could lead to delays with public transportation.

This warning is said to last from 9am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday.

However, the website also clarifies that the warning has a very low likelihood and only a medium impact. Therefore, the match should go ahead without issue.

Everton sell out allocation for Liverpool showdown

Unsurprisingly, Everton have sold out their allocation for the Liverpool match.

The Toffees were given 3,052 tickets for the game, which were all snapped up by the end of August.

Liverpool still have tickets on sale. Reds members who have recorded 4+ Premier League home games from the 2024/25 campaign and have registered will be eligible to purchase these.

Hospitality tickets are also still on sale on the Liverpool website.
