David Moyes shares Jarrad Branthwaite injury update ahead of Liverpool vs Everton

David Moyes has given an update on his Everton squad ahead of Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.

Everton manager Moyes has a dismal record at Anfield, and is looking to get his first win in 23 attempts at the Reds’ home.

Everton look set to compete for Europe, and they could put a real marker down with victory over their arch-rivals.

The new update could be a major boost for their plans to cause an upset on 20 September.

David Moyes shares Vitalii Mykolenko and Jarrad Branthwaite update

Vitalii Mykolenko was not seen in Everton training on Thursday, and Jarrad Branthwaite was another injury doubt.

Moyes has provided an update on their fitness ahead of the Anfield clash, and it sounded positive for the Toffees.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 19 September, he said: “They are making progress and we will see, we have got a couple of knocks within the camp, but we’ll see how they are.”

Everton will be confident ahead of Merseyside derby

It is rare that the Blues go into a derby with confidence, especially away from home, but this time feels different.

Moyes has his side playing wonderful football, and they are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches, primarily due to the influence of Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Reds have relied on late winners in all four of their previous league matches, so they are not exactly in the best of form right now, and the Scotsman will feel like this is the chance to end his poor run at Anfield.

Surely it has got to come to an end at some point, Moyes and co will fancy their chances of walking away with a positive result, given their form at the moment, and the fact that Arne Slot’s side look so shaky.

Beating the reigning champions would be a huge result, especially for their European ambitions, and there is every chance that they can get one.

Moyes will believe that his squad can do it, especially if Mykolenko and Branthwaite are available for selection.
