Ally McCoist rages at controversy in Liverpool vs Everton – ‘Nonsense’
Everton pushed hard but could not avoid a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
David Moyes was hoping to end his dismal Anfield record, but his side ultimately came up short at their rivals’ ground.
Vitalii Mykolenko returned for Everton, but he was not at his best in the contest, as both goals came down the left side.
However, Jack Grealish produced an inspired display again, but the Reds held on to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Liverpool vs Everton incident causes Ally McCoist to lose his rag
Everton boss Moyes has previously praised referee Darren England, but his side were on the receiving end of a baffling decision in the second half.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was booked for taking a free-kick too quickly, and the incident left McCoist furious on commentary.
Speaking on TNT Sports on 20 September (14:06 pm), he said: “It’s nonsense, I mean it is just. They will say that is the rules, but how about a bit of common sense.”

David Moyes will be proud of his Everton side
The Blues gave themselves a difficult task, having to come down from a two-goal deficit, but they nearly did so.
On another day, they would have got the goal that they needed to equalise, and there were a lot of positives to take for Moyes and Co. going forward.
- Everton had nine shots to the Reds’ 11 in the clash
- Two shots on target to the hosts’ three efforts
- 22 touches in the opposition box to the Anfield outfit’s 26
- Everton were handed three yellows card to the Reds’ two
The Toffees have shown that they can hang with the Premier League champions, which suggests that they are a much-improved side from last season, when they failed to score in the away derby.
They need to maintain that second-half performance if they are to achieve their ambition of qualifying for European competition, which seems like a lofty task at the moment.
The likes of Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye and Dewsbury-Hall will be crucial, and the latter is already on four yellow cards after the latest one, one away from a suspension.
The decision was extremely harsh, and it has to be questioned why he was booked for that when Conor Bradley was not for consistently fouling Grealish.
