Iliman Ndiaye represents Everton in outstanding Premier League stat reveal
Iliman Ndiaye has started this season in superb form for Everton, netting two goals and providing an assist in five Premier League appearances.
The winger was among the standouts as Everton lost 2-1 to Liverpool in a close match that has prompted discussion over the refereeing.
Darren England was criticised for his refereeing of the Merseyside derby, with the official making several bizarre decisions.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was booked for taking a free kick too quickly, and a foul on Ndiaye was missed by both England and the video assistant referee in the build-up to Liverpool’s opener.
Everton’s complaints were ignored by Match of the Day, however, in a decision that has frustrated fans of the Toffees.

Iliman Ndiaye outperforming his expected goals
Everton reportedly rejected a £40million bid for Ndiaye in the summer, and for good reason.
The Senegal international has emerged among the Toffees’ most important players since joining from Marseille last summer.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals across all competitions last season, and looks to be primed for an even better campaign this time around.
With the additions of Jack Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall aiding in getting Ndiaye closer to the goal, the winger is enjoying goal-scoring chances at a much higher rate.
In fact, Ndiaye belongs to an exclusive list of Premier League players to be outperforming their expected goals (xG) this season so far.
Premier League 2025/26 | Goals | xG | Differential |
Richarlison | 3 | 1.64 | + 1.36 |
Hugo Ekitike | 3 | 1.78 | + 1.22 |
Iliman Ndiaye | 2 | 1.30 | + 0.70 |
The Senegal international has registered 1.30 xG across his five appearances so far, as highlighted by Sofascore, and has scored two goals.
Other xG overperformers this season, excluding penalties, include Tottenham’s Richarlison and Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike.
On the other end of the spectrum, Beto has actually underperformed his xG, returning just the one goal from 2.0 xG.

Iliman Ndiaye stats suggests strong finishing
Expected goals is a stat that could suggest several things. A low goal return against a high xG would appear to present a poor finisher, but a player who always gets in the right position to take the shot.
The inverse can suggest a strong finisher, but a return that is not sustainable over the season, given the type of shot the player usually attempts.
In Ndiaye’s case, the truth may be somewhere in the middle. Both of the winger’s goals were taken with the goal gaping, with his positioning shining through, rather than his finishing.
