Ex-PGMOL chief makes Jack Grealish accusation after incident in Everton loss vs Wolves
Everton’s defeat to Wolves in the Carabao Cup was extremely poor.
Despite the hosts being at the bottom of the Premier League, goals from Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare ensured that Wolves secured a 2-0 victory to progress into the fourth round.
While many underperformed for the Toffees, David Moyes’ decision to rapidly change Everton’s lineup was one of the major factors for the defeat.
One omission was Jack Grealish, with the winger being brought off the bench in the second half to try to change the game.
However, despite his short time on the field, he did make an impact.

Goodison News presents the exclusive opinion of former Premier League and FIFA-listed referee Keith Hackett.
Keith Hackett: Jack Grealish looking for contact for Everton penalty claim
Earlier in the season, Grealish ran riot at Molineux as Everton won 3-2 on the day.
Therefore, when the winger was brought on during the second half, there was a hope that he would pick up where he had left off.
However, whenever Grealish got on the ball, many of the Wolves players opted to simply take him out to prevent him from creating any chances.
- Grealish was brought on just before the hour mark to try and get an equaliser against Wolves
- However, the winger found himself constantly being fouled by the hosts
- Grealish believed he should have been awarded a penalty kick
One such incident came just after he was subbed on when he was seemingly brought down unfairly inside Wolves’ box.
However, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Keith Hackett insists that it wasn’t a penalty.
He said: “I support the referee in not awarding a penalty kick. He was clearly looking for contact and went to ground too early.
“Not a penalty kick for me.”

David Moyes at fault for Wolves defeat
While Moyes was right to make some changes for the Wolves match and try out different players, the number of alterations he made was simply absurd.
The Old Gold side was bang out of form and low on confidence, and the Toffees should have used this to their advantage in the lineup.
Instead, Wolves were by far the better team, and the players, such as Grealish, simply did not have the time to alter the result.
The cause for the defeat is primarily Moyes, with the Hill Dickinson faithful now banking on the FA Cup to finally end their 30-year trophy drought this season.
