David Moyes shares Jarrad Branthwaite update ahead of Everton vs West Ham
David Moyes has provided an update on his Everton squad ahead of the clash with West Ham on Monday.
Everton are looking to get back to winning ways on 29 September, after failing to secure victory in their last three in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Graham Potter could be on the chopping block if he loses to Everton amid a poor start to the campaign, as the Sofascore graphic below highlights.
Moyes will be keen to get revenge on his former side, and he has revealed a huge injury update for the Hill Dickinson Stadium contest.

David Moyes shares Jarrad Branthwaite update ahead of West Ham match
Jarrad Branthwaite’s potential return has been the key narrative for Everton, with the centre-back out since the pre-season friendly with Roma in August.
Moyes shared an update on his availability for the contest, and it is not the one that Blues fans would have hoped for.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 26 September, he said: “Fine, he will not be available for Monday, neither is Merlin [Rohl].
“Not at the moment, we are expecting him back shortly, but not yet.”
Jarrad Branthwaite return is key for Everton
Branthwaite is one of the best players in Moyes’ squad, and while Michael Keane has stepped up in his absence, he does not offer what the 23-year-old does.
The young defender is on the brink of the England squad, and he formed a brilliant partnership with James Tarkowski last season at the heart of Moyes’ defence.
- Branthwaite has made 86 appearances for Everton in his career
- He has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham
- He is yet to feature in the 2025/26 campaign
Branthwaite needs to be back soon if he is to have any chance of making Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup, and have an impact on the Toffees’ season, which could be shaping up to be a very good one.
Moyes is dreaming of qualifying for Europe, and he needs his star man back to full fitness, if he is to have any chance of achieving that feat.
Otherwise, he can probably wave goodbye to those ambitious hopes, as Keane is not as reliable as the former Carlisle product.
