Jeff Stelling makes David Moyes claim in Everton vs West Ham prediction

Everton manager David Moyes will come up against his former side West Ham on Monday evening.

Moyes will be hoping that Jack Grealish can return to his magical Everton form that won him the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

Everton could get Graham Potter sacked if they secure victory, given Moyes even more incentive at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 29 September.

Everton and the Hammers could be missing five players for the contest, but it should still be lively.

David Moyes is the subject of Jeff Stelling claim ahead of Everton vs West Ham

Jeff Stelling heaped praise on James Tarkowski after the 2-1 loss to Liverpool last weekend, and he thinks the Blues will come away with victory.

The talkSPORT host believes that the fact that the Toffees have home advantage is crucial, and that the Irons fans will have started to miss Moyes.

In a post on X on 25 September, the outlet shared his prediction, he said: “Monday Night Football closes out the action, as Everton take on West Ham United.

“All eyes of course, on David Moyes for this one, loved by Evertonians, less so by West Ham fans, although, absence is making the heart grow just a little fonder.

“The Hammers often did well at Goodison Park, with four wins in their last seven visits, but Everton have started the season so well, I have to go for them to win for a second Premier League game at their new stadium.

“I am going Everton 1-0 West Ham.”

Everton would love it if David Moyes could get revenge on West Ham

The Blues need to get back to winning ways, after failing to win in their last three matches in all competitions.

Their impressive start to the campaign has been wiped out, and they need to send a message against the struggling East London outfit.

Moyes can get revenge for the fact that the E20 side let him go after winning their first trophy in over 40 years with the Europa Conference League.

Ultimately, the Scotsman’s focus will on securing a result for his team, rather than any personal feelings towards the Hammers, but it would be sweet if he could get Potter sacked and set his former employers back even further.

It would also help the Blues in their pursuit of European qualification, so it is imperative that they get the win that they are expected to secure.
