Vitalii Mykolenko has weeks to save Everton career after dismal scenes vs Liverpool
Vitalii Mykolenko has had a tough start to the 2025/26 campaign at Everton.
The left-back has struggled with injuries, which have limited his gametime this season.
During the last international break, Mykolenko picked up another knock, which ruled him out of the Aston Villa match.
The Ukraine international managed to make his comeback last weekend. However, Mykolenko was awful against Liverpool and was rightly subbed off.
Now, time could be running out for the full-back if he wants to stay at the Merseyside club.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Everton scout Bryan King.
Bryan King: Vitalii Mykolenko has weeks to prove he should stay at Everton
Before his injury, Mykolenko had been linked away from Everton, with Napoli putting in a bid for the full-back.
This was rejected by David Moyes, with Mykolenko set to stay at least until January.
However, despite the full-back playing regularly under the Scotsman, questions have been asked about Mykolenko’s ability at Everton.
Now, after his poor showing at Anfield, Bryan King exclusively told Goodison News that the 26-year-old may only have a couple of matches left to save his career at the Toffees.
- Mykolenko has spent much of this season on the sidelines
- The left-back made his comeback once again against Liverpool
- However, Mykolenko did not impress at Anfield
He said: “I think it’s very difficult at this stage because he’s been injured and he’s had a tough pre-season,” King said.
“He was injured during pre-season, and that’s never a good sign for a player.
“Now he’s back, he’s had his first game, and it was some game to come back into.
“Everton are a long way away from Liverpool. I don’t think Mykolenko was the only problem on the day; there were two or three players who were found wanting on the day.
“So, I’d give him another couple of games before I made any sort of decisions on him, because look at the players that he had running at him. You aren’t going to get much better than them in the Premier League.”

How bad has Vitalii Mykolenko been for Everton this season?
So far this campaign, Mykolenko has done little to impress, with the left-back struggling in many of his games.
According to Sofascore on 26 September, the defender has averaged a poor 6.43 rating, and has already made a key defensive error.

Therefore, Moyes may do well to upgrade this position in January, especially if there is still interest in the full-back.
Hopefully, if the Scotsman does stick with Mykolenko, he will quickly improve his form now he has recovered from his injury.
