David Moyes has already shared his true feelings on next West Ham manager

Everton are set to face a new off against a new man in the dugout when they play West Ham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday.

West Ham sacked Graham Potter on Saturday, after the former Chelsea boss had lost four of his opening five Premier League games.

The Englishman was named West Ham manager just days before David Moyes’ return to the Toffees in January, but the two have had very different experiences over the last nine months.

It was previously suggested Moyes could get Potter sacked at West Ham if Everton won on Monday, but that power has now been taken out of the Scot’s hands.

Instead, the Toffees will have to contend with a new face in the opposition dugout.

David Moyes was full of praise for new West Ham boss

Moyes has never beaten Potter in a competitive match, so the Scot will be pleased to hear that the new manager is someone he has had slightly more success against.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be named as the next West Ham manager, according to various reports, just weeks after leaving Nottingham Forest.

The former Tottenham boss led the Tricky Trees to their best finish in the Premier League since 1995 last season, but was sacked after falling out with new Global Head of Football Edu Gaspar.

Moyes has beaten Nuno four times from seven meetings, with the most recent coming when Everton met Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in April.

Speaking previously, Moyes heaped praise on Nuno for his work at Forest.

“If you’re going to be manager of the year, then it’s more to do with the resources you’ve got as well,” Moyes said when asked about his opponent’s chances of winning the award last season.

“I think from Nottingham Forest’s position of last season to where they are now, I think it would have to put Nuno in a strong position to get one of those votes.”

Nuno’s side were in the midst of a challenge for the Premier League’s top five spots when the sides met, but were stopped in their tracks by a resolute Everton.

The Toffees dominated possession, and in the 94th minute, were handed the chance to win the game when Abdoulaye Doucoure raced through on goal, and the midfielder made no mistake.

It would be among the first of the games that would see Nottingham Forest crumble at the end of the season, a series of results likely pertinent in Evangelos Marinakis’ mind when Nuno was sacked.
