Iliman Ndiaye can punish international teammate for Everton in West Ham clash

Iliman Ndiaye is set for a key match up on Monday when Everton take on West Ham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton lost 2-0 to Wolves on Tuesday, marking their second consecutive loss after coming up short in the Merseyside derby at Anfield last week.

But David Moyes will see the visit of the Hammers as a great chance to get back on track, with the visitors arriving having lost four of their opening five Premier League games.

Jack Grealish is among those to have a good record against West Ham. The winger having registered six direct goal contributions in his 11 meetings against the London club.

And the England international is set to face off against Kyle Walker-Peters, after Graham Potter confirmed Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be unavailable for West Ham.

Iliman Ndiaye to face international teammate vs West Ham

Ndiaye is outperforming his expected goals in the Premier League this season, amid what has been an outstanding start for the winger.

The 25-year-old netted against Brighton and Wolves, and has been a constant threat on the right flank.

And Monday’s game will be of particular interest to the Senegal international, with Ndiaye set to go against his international teammate.

El Hadji Malick Diouf joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in the summer, and his been among few standouts for the Hammers.

With his stunning crosses gaining him three assists already this season, the left-back will certainly be a point of discussion for Moyes in the build-up to the game.

And who better than to provide an insight than his own international teammate, Ndiaye.

El Hadji Malick Diouf positioning can be exploited by Iliman Ndiaye

Ndiaye’s experience of playing alongside Diouf will also mean the winger is well aware of the types of positions the defender likes to take up.

The 20-year-old is brave and incredibly positive, and, as demonstrated by his Premier League heat map as per Sofascore, can often be spotted deep in the opposition half.

If Everton can find him quickly enough, Ndiaye could easily be left in acres of space on the right, and the 25-year-old has both the pace and the ability to punish his opponent.

In his first interview after signing for West Ham, Diouf was asked what opponent he most looked forward to facing in the Premier League.

Interestingly, the defender replied: “Everton“, presumably due to the prospect of playing against his international teammate Ndiaye.

Whilst the feeling may well be mutual, Everton’s number 10 will be hoping to leave the defender wishing he’d answered differently.
