Danny Murphy blasts Beto after ‘timid’ scenes in Everton draw vs West Ham
Everton picked up a point against West Ham on Monday as they played out a 1-1 draw at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Michael Keane’s header gave the Toffees the lead early in the first half with a fantastic header.
Jarrod Bowen then netted an equaliser for West Ham in the second half with a curled effort.
From here, the Toffees were unable to grab a winner as both sides missed great chances to get the third gal of the game.
Now, while many Everton players performed well, Beto’s display left much to be desired.
Danny Murphy: Beto should have done better with early chance
Beto has been under plenty of criticism recently for his performances at Everton.
The striker is struggling to find the net which has resulted in the Toffees already missing out on numerous points that could prove to be vital at the end of the season.
Nonetheless, David Moyes backed his striker yet again against West Ham, with the attacker given the nod to start.
However, in the first half, Beto missed a golden opportunity to give Everton an even earlier lead as he headed the ball straight at Alphonse Areola.

Danny Murphy, commenting on the match on talkSPORT on 29 September, was less than impressed with his missed opportunity.
He said: “He got caught out there Kilman. It was a great ball in. I think he should do better there Beto.
“Maybe there wasn’t quite enough pace on the ball, but he should be doing better there with that header.
“Timid, poor direct and power.”
Time is running out for Beto at Everton
There are only so many chances Beto can have in Everton’s starting XI and not score.
The striker simply had to net that chance against West Ham, in what was another poor strike.
If Everton are to push up the Premier League, they need an attacker who can reliably net chances such as those.
With question marks already hovering over Beto’s future at Everton, time is running out to prove that he is good enough for Moyes’ side.
