Everton congratulate Tommy Fleetwood in new message after Ryder Cup success for Team Europe

Everton will be hoping to replicate the success of Tommy Fleetwood and Team Europe in the Ryder Cup with a win against West Ham on Monday.

Fleetwood and his caddy, Ian Finnis, are massive Everton supporters, with the latter the husband of ex-Everton Women‘s goalkeeper, Rachel Brown-Finnis.

Fleetwood is a lifelong Blue, and he has consistently shown his support for the club on both the golf course and at home.

Everton celebrate Tommy Fleetwood’s success

In an X post from Everton’s official account, they applauded the achievements of Fleetwood and Finnis, and poked fun at the USA’s loss by tagging their US Supporters club account.

They said: “Congratulations on winning the Ryder Cup, Team Europe – especially these two Toffees.

“Better luck next time, Everton in USA…”

During the 2023 Ryder Cup, Finnis posed with a group of Evertonians who made the trip to Marco Simone in Rome after regaining the trophy.

The Toffees have always maintained a good relationship with the golfer and have congratulated Fleetwood’s achievements before.

Regardless of where the 34-year-old has been in the world, he has shown vocal support for the Toffees.

First trophy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

During Everton’s penultimate season at Goodison Park, Fleetwood treated the Toffees by making an appearance on the pitch with the Ryder Cup itself.

Before their Premier League fixture against Manchester City on 27 December 2023, the Southport native was greeted by thousands of Blues ahead of the match as he lifted the trophy for all to see.

As Everton have now moved into their world-class new stadium, they could potentially welcome a world-class golfer to show off the first trophy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Toffees will hope Fleetwood’s major success can be passed on to them as they start their new era under The Friedkin Group.
