‘FA could now extend Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall ban’ due to incident after Everton’s draw vs West Ham
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could be in line for further punishment from the FA, with the Everton midfielder already set to serve a one-match suspension.
Everton drew 1-1 with West Ham on Monday, but a moment in the final minutes of the game has dominated the post-game discussion.
Dewsbury-Hall was booked against West Ham, after appearing to win the ball cleanly from Kyle Walker-Peters just outside the Toffees’ box.
The 27-year-old sank to his knees in disbelief at the decision, with replays only working to emphasise the bizarre nature of Sam Barrott’s call.
Everton commentator Phil Munns called Dewsbury-Hall’s booking a “shocker”, and his verdict has been widely echoed.

Dewsbury-Hall described the referee’s decision as “mind boggling” on social media after the game, with the midfielder also on the end of a questionable yellow card against Liverpool.
The 27-year-old had looked to take a quick free-kick with Everton chasing the game at Anfield, but was booked by Darren England for no apparent reason.
Now, Dewsbury-Hall is set to miss the visit of Crystal Palace on Sunday, but his participation against Manchester City after the international break could also be in doubt.

Keith Hackett exclusively told Goodison News that the midfielder could be in line for further punishment after his comments on social media.
“I can understand the frustration of Dewsbury Hall given that I really would have liked to have seen a step management process on a couple of these yellow cards,” the former Premier League referee said.
“Step One – speak to the player advising him that you want an improvement in his behaviour. Step Two – you bring the offending player and his captain together and state clearly that you will sanction any further misconduct.
“Step three – if he persists after the public rebuke then yellow card. This is the process I operated throughout my career.
“Of course you may have to issue an immediate caution for a certain offence. The player’s comments on social media are unwise and could increase the length of any suspension.
“I suggest that the player talks to a member of the coaching staff who will give him the appropriate operational advice.”
Dewsbury-Hall right to speak out after yellow card decision
The Premier League continues to face a problem when it comes to the accountability of their officials.
Whilst Dewsbury-Hall nervously waits to see if he will be punished for rightly commenting on a clearly incorrect decision, the referee who made the call itself faces no such risk.
Of course, human errors are a part of the game – any footballer would be happy to admit as much – but the consistency of such mistakes surely must face accountability to some level.
