Everton must make bold Thierno Barry decision as worrying Crystal Palace stat emerges
Everton’s attacking woes have been well-documented this season as they continue to struggle to find the net.
Beto’s form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been criticised often, with the striker only netting one Premier League goal this campaign.
However, the attacker isn’t the only one who has struggled, with Thierno Barry yet to even find the back of the net since his summer move to Everton.
The 22-year-old moved to Merseyside on the back of an impressive season at Villarreal but has done little to impress David Moyes so far.
However, the Scotsman may be forced to take drastic action ahead of the match against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Everton must start two strikers amid Crystal Palace set-piece threat
Going into Sunday’s match, Crystal Palace are likely to be the favourites to beat Everton, given their incredible run of form.
The Eagles have been sensational, and currently sit third in the Premier League as their unbeaten run continues.
With Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already suspended for the Everton match, Moyes may have to create some magic to get a result.
Now, the Scotsman must ensure he plays both Barry and Beto up top against Palace to give the Toffees the best chance of ending their winless run.
Not only would this give them the best chance of breaking through Palace’s strong backline, but it would also help combat one of their biggest threats.
- Everton have struggled to score so far this season
- In the Premier League, they have only netted seven times in six matches
- Beto and Barry have heavily struggled, only netted once in the league combined
According to Opta on 1 October, the visitors are exceptional at scoring from set-pieces.
So far this season, they have produced the highest xG from dead balls in the Premier League at 4.27, and have scored four goals from such scenarios.

Therefore, by adding Barry to the squad, his aerial prowess could be an extra body to help defend against this threat, while Beto can stay up top, ready for the potential counter.
Given Dewsbury-Hall’s ban, the striker could simply come into the team for the Englishman, with Moyes switching the formation to accommodate the Frenchman.
How good is Thierno Barry in the air?
While Barry may not have had any luck in front of goal, this does not mean that he is not good in the air.
According to Sofascore on 1 October, the striker was excellent at winning headers at Villarreal last season.
Barry won 67.5 per cent of his aerial duels, averaging 2.86 per game.

Therefore, this added quality to Everton’s starting XI could prove to be the difference-maker on Sunday.
Hopefully, Moyes will give the striker a chance against Palace, and he is rewarded with a win.
