James Garner could join exclusive Everton vs Crystal Palace club if he does one thing
James Garner has been one of Everton’s standout players this season.
Garner has been tipped for an England call-up after his Everton exploits, with David Moyes pleading with Thomas Tuchel to take a look at him.
The ex-Manchester United man will hope to continue his impressive form against the Eagles when the sides meet at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 5 October.
However, he could also join an exclusive club, one which he may not be too happy to be a part of, when Everton face Oliver Glasner’s side.

James Garner could join historic club in Everton vs Crystal Palace clash
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will miss Everton’s clash with Palace, as he has picked up five bookings in the Premier League already this season.
However, Garner could join a much more historic club, as he boasts nearly the same number of bookings against the Eagles alone, in his time with the Blues.
The 24-year-old has picked up three yellow cards in six league matches against Sunday’s opposition since he moved to Merseyside.
If he is cautioned in the upcoming contest, that will be four bookings and leave him level with Luka Milivojevic for the most in the fixture’s history, as the Sofascore graphic below highlights.

David Moyes will hope that Garner is not booked against Palace
Given the fact that one of his players is already out of the game, due to picking up bookings, Moyes will want his players to avoid being cautioned by Michael Salisbury.
The Toffees have a controversial history with the 40-year-old running the game, so the Scotsman will be keen not to give him any ammunition.
- Salisbury was VAR when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was sent off against Palace in the FA Cup in January 2024
- He also ruled out a James Tarkowski goal when refereeing Everton’s 4-0 win over Wolves in December 2024
- He has refereed Everton twice, with two wins, but they have only won twice on the six occasions that he has been the VAR
Garner has only picked up one yellow card this season, so he is nowhere near a ban, but things can change quickly, so Moyes will not want him to pick one up this soon into the campaign.
He needs the England Under-21 star to be on the pitch as much as possible this season, as he is one of the better players within the squad.
