Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall punishment verdict shared after post-match ‘injustice’ in Everton vs West Ham

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was furious with one particular moment in Everton’s 1-1 draw with West Ham.

Michael Keane had opened the scoring for Everton, before Jarrod Bowen notched a leveller that ended up being the final goal of the contest.

Dewsbury-Hall and Co. pushed for a winner, but they could not find the goal that they needed to secure all three points.

However, his actions after the final whistle have led to increased scrutiny after the Hill Dickinson Stadium clash on 29 September.

Expert shares if Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall should expect further punishment for Everton scenes

Dewsbury-Hall took to social media to vent after Everton’s draw, particularly about the fact that he was booked and will now miss the Crystal Palace clash.

The former Leicester and Chelsea star has picked up five bookings; the one against the Irons was extremely questionable, hence him calling out the decision.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that he will face no further punishment for the post-match incident, though, as it does not fall within the criteria used for punishment.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “No, I don’t think he’ll be punished for that, the criteria that they use, a manager or a player is allowed to say I think that decision was wrong, and I don’t agree with it.

“What he is not allowed to do is question whether the referee is biased, if you start to insinuate that the referee was biased or was not acting in a manner where he was simply applying the rules of the game.

“He is allowed to disagree with the decision; he is even allowed to say that I don’t think the referee had a good game.

“He should not, I tell you it would be an injustice, you don’t want to be doing that as a player week in week out, I think he might regret that, because shooting your mouth off after the game, it is better than you keep that to yourself.

“I think he was probably right to feel a little bit hard done by, because he is the first player in the country to five yellows, he is going to miss a game, which is a pity, because he is showing at Everton, that he is underused at Chelsea.”

The Blues star will definitely miss the Palace game, but whether he faces further punishment for his social media antics remains to be seen.

Everton will miss Dewsbury-Hall for Crystal Palace contest

Dewsbury-Hall has proven to be a brilliant pick-up for the Blues, and his presence will be sorely missed against the Eagles.

David Moyes could have done with him, if the Toffees are to break their opponents’ 18-game unbeaten streak on 5 October.

However, he will be without one of his star men, and he will hope that Darke is right and that the initial ban is not extended.
