Everton send Alex Pereira message ahead of UFC320 title showdown
Everton have a new connection with the Ultimate Fighting Championship after recent developments.
Everton already boasts ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann as one of their most prominent supporters, as she is a well-known Toffee, alongside the likes of Tony Bellew and Tommy Fleetwood.
The 35-year-old retired from the UFC in March 2025, after a loss to Alexia Thainara at a Fight Night event in London.
Everton sent a message of support to McCann after she won on her boxing debut, but she is not the only star associated with the UFC that the club have been keeping an eye on.

Everton send UFC 320 message to Alex Pereira
Everton’s preparations for the new season involved a meeting with Alex Pereira, who was a special guest at their training camp in New York.
The Blues sent a message to current Octagon star on 3 October ahead of his title fight with Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 on Sunday morning.
Taking to X, the Toffees wished the Brazilian fighter luck, saying: “Leighton Baines got the full ‘Poatan’ experience this summer.
“Good luck to Alex Pereira in his UFC title fight this weekend.”
Some Blues supporters will likely keep an eye on Pereira’s performance after the link-up in the summer.
Everton could use Pereira’s mentality
The Toffees are desperate to get back to winning ways, as is the Brazilian fighter after losing to Ankalaev at UFC313, and surrendering his belt in the process.
His meteoric rise to UFC stardom could help the Blues, though, if they can adopt the same mentality as the 38-year-old, who has refused to give up on his rise to the very top of his game.
He has only lost two of his fights since he joined the world’s biggest Mixed Martial Arts organisation, one to Ankalaev and another to Israel Adesanya, who is regarded as one of the best, and an opponent that he had already beaten in the Octagon.
If Moyes and Co can utilise the mental fortitude that Pereira does to push himself forward in the hardest combat sport in the world, it could serve them well in the future.
They will have surely learnt a few things in the summer, when they linked up with the MMA star, hopefully, they can put them to use this season.
