Everything Thomas Tuchel has said about Jack Grealish after latest England snub
Everton star Jack Grealish must be wondering what he has to do to receive a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
After another impressive display against West Ham on Monday, Grealish has broken creative records at Everton.
It has been a disappointing month for the Toffees, but the winger has continued to look in scintillating form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Grealish is topping the Premier League for key passes, and has created more chances across all competitions than any other player at a Premier League club.
Pickford said he wants Grealish in the England squad, but the winger will have to wait to receive his much-desired call up.

Thomas Tuchel explains Jack Grealish decision
Grealish is desperate for a call-up to Tuchel’s England squad, but the manager has continued to opt for the likes of Anthony Gordon and Marcus Rashford.
The former, especially, can count himself very lucky to be selected over the Everton man.
Jack Grealish | Premier League 2025/26 | Anthony Gordon |
4 | Assists | 0 |
3 | Big chances created | 0 |
1.5 | Successful dribbles per game | 1.7 |
6.8 | Ground duels won per game | 4.7 |
3.7 | Fouled per game | 2 |
1.7 | Tackles | 1 |
Grealish has significantly outperformed Gordon from a creative standpoint this season, and if Tuchel wants defensive presence from his winger, too, the 30-year-old is the man he should have opted for.
Tuchel, speaking at a news conference on Friday, said: “For this camp we wanted to make it a straightforward decision and stay with the same group, because the group deserved to be in camp on the basis of what they did last camp.”
The former Bayern Munich boss explained that the decision has resulted in several otherwise deserving players to be left out, including Grealish, who he said is “in a very good moment.”

Tuchel previous comments provide confusion
After Grealish was left out of Tuchel’s squad in March, the German explained that the decision was down to the winger’s lack of minutes at Manchester City.
“I love Jack,” the England boss said. “As a headline, I love Jack. I love everything about him. I love his personality, I love his quality.
“The guy has courage, he can take the heat, he’s not afraid of the Bernabeu whistles when he’s on the ball, it does not affect him and if it affects him only in the best way.
“So, is he a player that should be available and can have an impact in our squad? Yes, 100 per cent.
“But lately, he simply has no rhythm and he himself – and I agree 100 per cent with this – said ‘listen, Thomas, I’m not a start-stop player – it is so hard for me to influence a match from the bench and then be on the bench again, and then two weeks later I start again’.”
Seven months on, Grealish has fixed that issue. He has started all but one of Everton’s games this season, and has been in spectacular form.
But the winger still remains out of the squad. With just three international breaks remaining before next year’s World Cup, time is running out and the gauntlet has been thrown down.
Grealish must continue to provide proof that Tuchel is making a mistake, and he can do that by firing Everton back into form.
