Everton player ratings vs Crystal Palace: Carlos Alcaraz superb, 4/10 horrendous
Jack Grealish’s late goal secured a sensational late victory for Everton as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
The Toffees had a dreadful start at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Jordan Pickford called upon numerous times to keep the scoreline level in the first half. However, Daniel Munoz eventually managed to break the deadlock for the visitors thanks to a quick counter-attack just before half-time.
In the second period, Everton were much better, and got their reward as Tim Iroegbunam was brought down in the box, and Ndiaye found the net from the spot to give the Toffees a point.
Then, into added time, Munoz kicked the ball at Grealish in an attempted clearance, which deflected off the winger and into the net.
Everton were predicted to lose to Crystal Palace, but a sensational second half performance was them pick up a memorable win.

Carlos Alcaraz game-changer for Everton
After an awful first half, David Moyes looked towards the bench to change the game, with Carlos Alcaraz one of two players coming onto the pitch.
Here, the attacking midfielder made a massive statement, and was easily the best Toffees player on the pitch.
Alcaraz was excellent in attack and finally gave Everton the attacking intent that was missing in the first half.
In the end, the Toffees rightly earned all three points and the attacking midfielder was the catalyst to achieving this.

With Alcaraz already impressing multiple times this season for Everton, Moyes has to consider starting the midfielder after the international break.
Thierno Barry horrific again
Thierno Barry was given the nod to start over Beto against Crystal Palace after Everton’s recent attacking woes.
However, the striker did little to impress and struggled to have any effect in the attack.
According to Sofascore on 5 October, he didn’t manage a single shot, and missed one big chance.
On top of this, he only completed half of his passes and lost possession nine times.

As a result, the striker was hooked at half-time, as he once again failed to impress.
While an argument can be made that he didn’t have enough support up top, realistically, Barry was simply not good enough, and has yet to show he has the ability to play in the Premier League.
