Danny Murphy singles out another ‘terrific’ Everton star in Jack Grealish segment live on air
Everton star Jack Grealish has rightly received plenty of plaudits for his winning goal against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on 5 October, with the England international bundling home the all-important winner in the final seconds.
Iliman Ndiaye‘s penalty cancelled out Daniel Munoz’s opener, after Tim Iroegbunam was brought down by Maxence Lacroix.
Grealish’s late winner marked the first time Everton have come from behind to win since 2021, in a day that saw the Hill Dickinson Stadium enjoy another iconic moment.
Erling Haaland was among those to send a message to Grealish following the game, as the winger continued his astonishing run of form.

Danny Murphy lauds Iliman Ndiaye
Much of the focus has been placed on Grealish this season, but Ndiaye has enjoyed a stunning start to the season.
Ndiaye is outperforming his expected goals in the Premier League and has offered Everton a constant threat down the right of the attack.
The winger was superb again on Sunday, and after scoring the penalty to put David Moyes‘ team back on terms, provided the cross that led to Grealish’s winner.
The ball across was a perfect one, and the Englishman converted after Beto‘s initial header had been saved by Dean Henderson.
Speaking live on BBC Match of the Day on Sunday, Danny Murphy made sure to mention Ndiaye in his analysis of Grealish.
“So many more touches in the dangerous areas of the pitch,” the former Liverpool midfielder said.
“He was strong, he was fit, he looks happy. He’s playing with a strut that we’ve seen him play with before, and what happens is that it’s infectious to those around him.
“I mean, I’ve got to give Ndiaye a mention as well, he’s terrific.”
Ndiaye deserves just as much credit as Jack Grealish
Of course, given the reputation that Grealish holds, he was always going to be the star of the show for Everton this season.
And the winger deserves to be, he has been absolutely excellent since arriving on Merseyside.
Iliman Ndiaye | Premier League 2025-26 | Jack Grealish |
7 | Appearances | 7 |
3 | Goals | 1 |
1 | Assists | 4 |
11 | Chances created | 17 |
2.75 | Successful dribbles per 90 | 1.78 |
49 | Duels won | 50 |
More than anyone, however, Everton fans will know that Ndiaye’s start to the season is just as much a part of Everton’s resurgence this season.
The 25-year-old has been simply brilliant alongside Grealish, and the two rank among the Premier League‘s best duos.
