This Everton stat proves that Robbie Savage was wrong about the Hill Dickinson Stadium
Everton finally got back to winning ways on Sunday after a disappointing September that saw them go four games without victory.
Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish scored as Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to come from behind at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Toffees had gone behind after a poor first half, but came out for the second half boosted by two positive substitutions from David Moyes.
Beto was praised for his impact against Crystal Palace after the striker was brought on for Thierno Barry at the break.
Everton have won just three of their last 31 home Premier League games when conceding first, with all three of them, bizarrely, coming against Crystal Palace.

Everton prove Robbie Savage wrong
In September, Robbie Savage mocked Roman Kemp for suggesting that the Hill Dickinson Stadium is a ‘fortress‘.
The former midfielder told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I listened to the show last night, it was a great show, but what was Roman Kemp on about.
Everton at home (2025-26) | Date |
Everton 2-0 Brighton | 24 Aug |
Everton 2-0 Mansfield Town | 30 Aug |
Everton 0-0 Aston Villa | 13 Sep |
Everton 1-1 West Ham | 29 Sep |
Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace | 5 Oct |
Everton vs Tottenham | 26 Oct |
“‘Everton’s new home is a fortress’ – they’ve had two games there. What is he talking about? Seriously! Wow, Roman, you’re better than that.”
After Sunday, however, Savage may already be eating his words. Crystal Palace had arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on a 19-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.
Avoid defeat, and the Eagles would set a new club record, in a run in which they have faced Liverpool three times, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City.
But it would be Everton to stop Oliver Glasner‘s side in their tracks and set some new history of their own.
According to EFC Statto, the Toffees’ unbeaten start at home in the Premier League is the first time they have avoided defeat in their opening four home league games since 2016-17.
Everton can make the Hill Dickinson Stadium a place to be feared
Especially after Sunday, teams throughout the Premier League will already be checking their fixture lists and noting down when they must visit Everton.
Goodison Park was always a tough place to travel to, and the Toffees will hope to create a similar effect in the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
That process has already begun to bear fruit, and Moyes will look forward to the visit of Tottenham after the international break.
As for Savage, his comments can be thrown away effortlessly already.
