Pat Nevin reveals what is ‘perfect’ for Jack Grealish at Everton after what he’s seen
David Moyes will be delighted with Everton’s start to the Premier League season.
Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 after trailing for the majority of the game on Sunday, as the Hill Dickinson Stadium kept its unbeaten record.
Jack Grealish scored a late winner for Everton in what was a deserved first goal for the Toffees, as he is off to a flying start on Merseyside.
Grealish has been hailed for his performances since arriving, and former Everton winger Pat Nevin has offered his insight into the new man’s recent success.

Pat Nevin believes David Moyes is perfect for Jack Grealish
Grealish struggled at Manchester City since his move from boyhood club Aston Villa, but now he is starting to show the form he once had.
Moyes has told Grealish to express himself on the field, as the Toffees boss sees the Englishman as one of the most creative players around.
- Pat Nevin played for Everton from 1988 to 1992
- The winger made 130-plus appearances
- Nevin managed to score 20 goals
Nevin was also a creative spark for Everton, and has revealed he is impressed with what he’s seen so far while speaking to Squawka.
“He’s not missed a few years, but they’ve not been what he wanted at Manchester City the last couple of years. And then you go somewhere and it suits you, and the people absolutely adore you.
“Jack has found the perfect home at Everton. Absolutely perfect. He’s got a manager who gets it, knows what he needs.
“There’s a guy who’s got the biggest, cheesiest grin on his face and he’s loving his football.”

Moyes has started to emerge as a key reason as to why Grealish is doing so well once again, and the Everton loanee has made that no secret.

Grealish and Moyes can bring European football to Everton
Moyes’ Everton are built on a core group of players like James Tarkowski, Jordan Pickford, and Idrissa Gana Gueye, who make his side difficult to beat.
Grealish is Everton’s maverick, as he holds the keys to unlock games, with his stats already proving so.
Minutes | Assists | Key passes per game | Team of the Week | Average rating |
556 | 4 | 2.7 | 3 | 7.67 |
With Grealish going from strength to strength, Everton’s prospects of securing European football are heightened, as an exciting season lies ahead.
