After James Tarkowski, Everton must offer ‘incredible’ star new contract
Everton fans are continuing to receive good news this week.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that James Tarkowski had signed a new contract at Everton, with the defender now set to stay at the Toffees until 2028.
This news comes after their dramatic 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday, with the vice-captain impressing against the Eagles.
For many, this was far from surprising, with Tarkowski already having an outstanding campaign for Everton.
Now, with the centre-back’s future secure, David Moyes can waste no time in sealing another contract.

Everton must offer Michael Keane a new contract
Another defender who has had an outstanding season is Michael Keane.
Coming into the starting XI for the injured Jarrad Branthwaite, the centre-back has not looked out of place.
Keane was labelled “incredible” by Duncan Ferguson after the draw with West Ham last week, with the defender netting the opener.
However, despite signing a new contract in the summer, Keane is set to become a free agent in July.
This cannot be allowed to happen, and Moyes must offer the defender a new contract as soon as possible.

Keane has proven himself at the start of this season, and the centre-half will remain an important asset for years to come.
Hopefully, Moyes recognises this and will seek to tie him down to a long-term contract.

How good has Keane been for Everton this season?
According to Sofascore on 8 October, the defender has had a great campaign to date.
Keane is making 7.71 clearances per match, while also winning around 60 per cent of his duels.

As a result, he has been awarded a 6.89 average rating, the eighth-highest in the Toffees’ squad.
While Branthwaite will be looking to get back into the starting XI once he recovers from his injury, at present, this could be a difficult task given Keane’s form.
