What we know about Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury at Everton: When could he return?
Everton have made an impressive start to the season despite being light at the back.
Jarrad Branthwaite hasn’t played for Everton at all this season, and Michael Keane has stepped up in his absence.
However, Keane was forced off with injury in Everton’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, as the need for Branthwaite has only intensified.
Everton have suffered from other injuries this season, as a timeline for Branthwaite‘s return is emerging during the October international break already.

Jarrad Branthwaite should be back starting for Everton in November
The October international break will be crucial for Branthwaite to build fitness ahead of his Everton return.
David Moyes shared an update on the 23-year-old before Everton’s game against Palace, as the centre-back has been sidelined with a nasty hamstring injury.
Moyes claimed that Branthwaite was making good progress, admitting that he was not yet back training on grass, but had hopes that he would be soon.
Everton’s next three Premier League games:
- Everton vs Manchester City (A) 18 October
- Everton vs Tottenham (H) 26 October
- Everton vs Sunderland (A) 2 November
The game against Manchester City could come too soon for Branthwaite, but Moyes will be hoping that his brute centre-half will at least make the bench for the home clash against Tottenham.
With the nature of Branthwaite’s injury, Everton will not want to rush him back in too early, but that may depend on the severity of Keane’s injury.

The earliest date for Branthwaite’s return to the Everton starting line-up will most likely be in the showdown against Fulham at The Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, 8 November.
Branthwaite’s return could help Everton achieve European football
With the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish performing, Everton are really looking like a force to be reckoned with this season.
The Blues have only conceded six goals in their seven Premier League games so far this season, and Branthwaite’s return will only add to the defensive solidity.
Games | Clean sheets | Duels won per game | Average rating |
30 | 8 | 3.9 | 7.02 |
Moyes and Everton are currently eighth in the Premier League, as the Toffees will be hoping to see European football once more.
