Carlos Alcaraz moans and groans speculated as Everton star sent message over behind-the-scenes behaviour
Carlos Alcaraz may have a clear route back into the starting XI at Everton.
The 22-year-old caught the eye for the Toffees during his loan spell in the second half of last season, but he has found life a lot more difficult since he became a permanent member of the squad over the summer.
Everton signed Alcaraz from Flamengo for a total package of around £15million at the end of May, but he has been on the periphery of the matchday squad since the start of the new campaign.
The attacker is yet to start a game for the Merseysiders this term, and it has now become clear what he must do to get back into David Moyes’ plans.

Carlos Alcaraz has to ‘get his head down’ at Everton
Alcaraz was excellent for Everton in their victory over Crystal Palace last weekend, as he was one of several substitutes who came onto the pitch and turned the game on its head.
It was a hugely encouraging performance from the former Southampton man, who reminded everybody of the impact that he is capable of providing in the victory over the Eagles.
However, the Argentine has still played just 163 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, and is still awaiting his first start of the season in league action.
- Alcaraz started seven games for Everton in the second half of last season
- He notched five league goal contributions during that loan spell
- He is averaging just 23 minutes per game in the Premier League this season
Ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Alcaraz must continue to work hard and be patient in order to get his chance.
“Hopes are always high when you bring in a player,” King said.
“If he doesn’t fit the system that Moyes is playing at the moment, then chances are going to be limited for him.
“He’s got to prove to Moyes that he’s ready to start. He needs to get his head down and make sure that the manager picks him based on what he can do.

“If he starts moaning and groaning, then that won’t get him back into the team.”
Carlos Alcaraz is a victim of Jack Grealish’s excellent form
Jack Grealish has had a seismic impact at Everton in the opening weeks of the season, but Alcaraz has certainly been one of the victims of his success.
The youngster was likely signed to be a first-choice option for the Toffees at the start of the summer, but the opportunity to sign Grealish was always going to be one that was too good to refuse if it arose.
The England international’s stunning displays have made it hard for the likes of Alcaraz and Dwight McNeil to break into the team, but the Argentine must take solace from the fact that he has age on his side.
There will always be moments throughout the campaign where he is needed, and he will need to be patient and seize those opportunities when they come his way.
