Jamie Carragher makes early Man City vs Everton prediction with new Erling Haaland claim

Everton have had a promising start to the Premier League season under David Moyes.

The Toffees now face a trip to Manchester City on Saturday as they look for a first win at the Etihad Stadium since 2010.

Jack Grealish has been excellent for Everton, although he will be sorely missed as he is ineligible to face his parent club on 18 October.

A trip to the Etihad is tough for any team, and former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made a prediction that could alarm Everton fans.

Jamie Carragher backs Erling Haaland to score against Everton

Everton have gained 11 points from their first seven matches and currently sit eighth in the Premier League table.

Man City are unbeaten in all competitions since August, with Erling Haaland’s nine Premier League goals proving crucial in recent weeks.

Speaking in the Sky Super 6 predictions, Carragher believes that Everton will suffer their third Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of City.

He said: “After a slow start, Man City are only three points behind first place, and Haaland should ensure they get their third league win on the bounce.”

Carragher predicts a 2-1 win for Man City, and Haaland is more than likely to find himself on the scoresheet yet again, if that is the case.

Haaland’s goalscoring record at club level

Haaland’s numbers are completely out of this world, with the 25-year-old breaking new records every single season.

Everton’s defence has its work cut out for them, and the task will be made harder as Michael Keane will likely be unavailable against Man City.

Keane has been hugely impressive for Everton, and with Jarrad Branthwaite also a doubt, Haaland could add to his goal tally of nine.

Grealish’s absence will hugely impact Everton’s threat on the counter-attack, yet Carlos Alcaraz could have a huge say in the match.

Carlos Alcaraz must make impact with Jack Grealish absent

Alcaraz was brilliant in the second half of last season, registering important goal contributions against Fulham, Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

However, Grealish’s arrival has meant that Alcaraz has only started one Premier League match this season, sitting alongside the likes of new signing Tyler Dibling.

Alcaraz changed the game against Crystal Palace, and he’ll need to be at the top of his game as Everton will look to catch Man City out on the break.

With fans dreaming about European football already, Alcaraz could definitely give Moyes a selection headache with a good performance at the Etihad.
