‘Everton give up on permanent Jack Grealish transfer’ as David Moyes eyes alternative attacking options

Jack Grealish’s addition to Everton has been a revelation.

Since joining the Toffees on loan, the winger has quickly become David Moyes’ biggest creative output, with the Manchester City loanee already registering four assists.

As a result, Grealish has been highly praised for his performances at Everton, with calls for the attacker to be recalled to the England squad getting louder.

Therefore, it is no surprise that the Toffees have been linked with signing Grealish permanently in the summer, especially with them having a £50million option to buy.

However, there is no guarantee that they will be able to get this over the line.

Everton continue to be linked with attackers

Despite having the option to buy the winger, the Toffees and Moyes have been exploring other ways to sign the Man City loanee permanently.

Reports have suggested that Everton will struggle to pay the £50m fee for Grealish, and have been hoping to sign him on a free in the summer.

This seems extremely unlikely to happen, and while Everton activating their option to buy for Grealish isn’t deemed unrealistic, Moyes may now be preparing for his departure.

In recent days, the Toffees have been linked with numerous attackers, despite already being stacked in this position.

Everton are rumoured to be looking at Ansu Fati, while Julian Brandt is also on their radar.

Given that these players can both play in Grealish’s position, this indicates that Moyes may have already given up on signing the Man City star.

The winger would obviously cost quite a lot, especially given his age, and other options may be deemed more suitable.

Is Ansu Fati good enough to be Jack Grealish’s successor?

While the signing of Fati could appear to be underwhelming, there is plenty to suggest that he could be a star at Everton.

According to Sofascore on 16 October, so far this season, the Monaco loanee beats Grealish in multiple important stats, including goals and shots per 90 minutes.

While Ligue 1 isn’t as competitive as the Premier League, it is still an impressive feat, with Fati also performing in the Champions League.

The winger is unlikely to be as good as Grealish. However, he still has potential and could be a valuable asset in the years to come.
