Jack Grealish has enjoyed a stunning start to his loan spell at Everton.

Grealish joined Everton on a season-long loan earlier this summer from Manchester City and has fallen back in love with football after years in the wilderness under Pep Guardiola.

David Moyes is keen to bring him in permanently, but whether that is financially achievable is another matter for the Toffees.

Everton plot stunning Jack Grealish swoop after new wage reveal

The Friedkin Group have solved a lot of the financial issues at Everton, but some still remain after Farhad Moshiri's reign.

A report from The Telegraph on 12 September claims that the Blues want to sign Grealish on a free transfer in a stunning swoop, but would struggle to sign him for a fee, despite the £50million clause in the deal.

It states that it is due to his reported £12million-a-year salary, but also notes that City would likely demand a fee for his services.

Manchester City surely would not sanction a free transfer for Grealish

The Citizens surely would not sanction a free transfer departure for Grealish, so the Toffees may have to get creative with their squad-building measures.

If Grealish continues in the fine form that he has started in, then there will be other clubs that are interested in signing him, and that could pose a problem.

  • Grealish made 20 appearances in the league for City last season, notching one goal and one assist
  • He has featured three times for Everton, notching four assists in those matches
  • Grealish has admitted that he is loving his time with the Blues

If the Blues do not have the financial might to sign him, then they may end up missing out, and he may just become another loan player that supporters fell in love with over the years.

They may be able to get him at a cheaper rate, with only one year left on his contract next summer, but a free transfer seems extremely unlikely, even if the former Three Lions ace is out of favour in Manchester.
