Pat Nevin fears being lynched by Everton fans as ‘phenomenal’ player tipped for move

Everton have many star names at their disposal this season.

Everton lost to Manchester City last time out as Erling Haaland proved to be too much for the Toffees’ backline.

Beto should have scored against Manchester City and could have made it a completely different day if he had tapped home from barely yards out.

David Moyes wasn’t helped by the absence of Jack Grealish at Everton against City, as he was ineligible against his parent club.

There was still a standout positive from the defeat, with Pat Nevin worried about negativity for even suggesting a future transfer exit.

Pat Nevin stunned by Iliman Ndiaye performances

Ndiaye was sensational for Everton against Man City and certainly caught the eye despite not getting on the scoresheet himself.

The Senegal international would have had an assist if it weren’t for Beto and his consistency when it comes to missing chances.

He wasn’t able to turn the tide in the away side’s favour enough across 86 minutes in a 2-0 defeat at the Etihad.

Ndiaye did go on a trademark mazy run against City and made a mockery of the 10-time Premier League champions.

It is this level of talent that Nevin believes could serve him well at an elite-level side, although he thinks it might cause negativity from Everton fans.

Speaking via the Football Extra newsletter on 22 October, he said: “I often think of players who would be even more impressive playing with better sides, teams who have more of the ball and spend more time in the attacking third.

Watching Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye so far this season, I suspect he could do a phenomenal job if he wer playing for Manchester City, Chelsea or Arsenal, he is that good.

“‌I hope he stays at the Toffees, but they might have to fight off bids from the bigger boys soon. Notice I don’t mention Liverpool in the shortlist.

‌”This is not because he isn’t capable, but I would rightly have an Evertonian lynch mob after me if I suggested such a thing!

Ndiaye could bring in £60m+ for Everton

The ex-Sheffield United man is beginning to catch the eye of the wider footballing world after over a year of excellent performances in blue.

The 25-year-old could certainly get involved with goals more after failing to pick up a single assist alongside his 11 goals last year.

His ability on the ball is almost unmatched in the Premier League and could result in a move elsewhere in the coming transfer windows.

If that were to happen, he would have to come in at a similar price to someone like Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal for £60million.

Everton won’t want to let him go for now, but he could prove to be a valuable financial asset further down the line.
