David Moyes can repeat Everton trick vs Tottenham that hasn’t been done since 2012
Everton are searching for only their second win from the last seven when they host Tottenham on Sunday.
Form has been hard to come by as of late, with Everton’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace their only victory since the end of August, when they secured all three points away to Wolves.
Tottenham make the trip to Everton on Sunday, having only won two of their last seven, including an EFL Cup victory against Doncaster.
However, while both sides are searching for a return to form this weekend, the ball is in the Toffees’ court, given what David Moyes has already achieved once on Merseyside.

Everton haven’t won consecutive games vs Spurs since 2012
Back in January, Everton secured a 3-2 victory at home to Tottenham, which was their first win against the North Londoners since 2021.
Results in that time include a 4-0 away defeat, a 5-0 away defeat and a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park back in 2024.
However, the Toffees haven’t lost against Spurs at home since 2018, when Harry Kane bagged a brace in a 6-2 win.
More importantly, the last time Everton won back-to-back games against Tottenham was in 2012, and it was when Moyes was in charge.

A 1-0 win at Goodison Park was followed by a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane, with Nikica Jelavic on the score sheet on both occasions.
With the North Londoners making the trip to Merseyside again this weekend, the Scotsman can repeat that feat for the first time in 13 years.
Everton vs Tottenham head-to-head
These two sides have faced off against each other on 190 occasions, dating all the way back to 1904 when Tottenham secured a 2-1 win in an FA Cup clash.
Since then, the Toffees have won 58 of the encounters, while Spurs have won 72.
The most notable clash in that time was undoubtedly back in 1958, when the Blues and the Lilywhites played out a 14-goal thriller.
It ended in a heavy 10-4 defeat for the Toffees, who will be looking to add to their record on Sunday afternoon.
