Preston media blown away by ‘colossal’ Harrison Armstong developments away from Everton
Harrison Armstrong continues to go from strength to strength after leaving Everton on loan.
Armstrong was allowed to depart Everton on a temporary move to Preston, after the Blues signed Merlin Rohl on deadline day.
David Moyes was keen for the Finch Farm graduate to get regular minutes in the Championship after he impressed in League One with Derby County last season.
Moyes has already been spotted keeping an eye on the Everton starlet, and he will have loved what he would have seen if he was watching on Friday evening.

Armstong stars again in narrow Preston win vs Sheffield United
Armstrong is attracting interest from Everton’s Premier League rivals, and they will have been watching his impressive display for Preston on 25 October.
Armstrong starred as the Lilywhites came back to beat Sheffield United 3-2 at Deepdale to move to sixth place in the second tier.
His performance was lauded by the Lancashire Evening Post, who handed him an 8 out of 10 rating, saying: “Wasn’t able to tackle O’Hare for his goal. He put in a colossal second-half shift though.”
BBC Radio Lancs’ Andy Bayes labelled Armstrong as “gem” and revealed what Blues academy figure David Unsworth has told him about the 18-year-old.
He said: “Armstrong looks a gem.
“As soon as he joined North End, the former Everton academy manager David Unsworth told me that he could go right to the top. That sort of recommendation shows just how highly his parent club rates him.”
Everton have no choice over Armstrong future
Given the rave reviews that he is earning for the Lancashire outfit, it seems that the Blues gem is only going in one direction.
He looks like he will be in and around the senior team next season, as he is far too good for the division that he is currently playing in.
- Armstong has made eight appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s side
- The last five of those have been starts, with the Blues loanee playing the full 90 minutes three times
- He has made eight appearances for the Toffees so far in his career
Moyes and Co. need to tie him down to a new deal, with his current contract expiring next summer, and they need to convince him that there is a pathway to the first-team.
The Blues have seen the likes of Isaac Price, Thierry Small and Mohamed Ali-Cho depart for free in recent years, as they did not believe there was a way to make it into the side.
The Lilywhites star is the best player that the Toffees have produced in a long time, they need to convince him that his future is on Merseyside, and the best way to do that is to give him regular opportunities.
