Danny Murphy in agreement with David Moyes on MOTD after Everton vs Tottenham controversy
Everton were left unimpressed in their 3-0 defeat against Tottenham on Sunday.
Tottenham secured an easy win over Everton as set-pieces became the Toffees’ worst nightmare at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The home side were generally poor, with Thierno Barry catching the eye against Tottenham in what was a positive cameo off the bench.
Things didn’t get better for David Moyes’ side with Everton central to controversy against Tottenham that potentially cost them the game.
Danny Murphy has reflected on the home side’s downfall on Merseyside as Thomas Frank’s side kept a contentious clean sheet.

Danny Murphy backs VAR in Everton vs Tottenham
Richard Keys couldn’t believe his eyes at Everton as Jake O’Brien saw a first-half equaliser chalked off by Craig Pawson.
The on-field official was sent to the pitchside monitor for an on-field review before opting to change his original decision to no-goal.
Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye were adjudged to be offside while impacting Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario as the ball flew into the net.
The Blues faithful were enraged by the decision, but on reflection, it was certainly the right call with the Toffees duo in an illegal position as the Ireland international sent a header towards goal.
Moyes had little complaint at full-time, and Murphy was in full agreement as he reviewed the incident via Match of the Day on 26 October.
He said: “I think in the moment they did [think they’re goal was ruled out harshly]. Listening to David Moyes there, he’s obviously watched it back and he feels like we feel, that it was the right decision.
“It looks fine when you watch it in real time, like most goals do. When you break it down, when O’Brien heads it, two Everton players are near the keeper, so when you watch it back, it doesn’t need to be a foul because they’re offside.
“Are they impacting him [Vicario] from making a save? You have to say yes, so I think it was the right decision, and I don’t think Everton can complain. I think if there was real contention, he [Moyes] would have said.“

Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye to blame for Everton downfall
Set-pieces were always going to be important against a Spurs side that could have been there for the taking in both boxes.
Everton hadn’t conceded a goal from a corner or free kick until Micky van de Ven turned up at L4 and made a mockery of Jordan Pickford.
Grealish lost the Dutchman and afforded him the chance to net his first before he went on to bag a brace for the Lilywhites.
The Englishman was at fault alongside Ndiaye as Everton’s goal was chalked off, with their positioning simply baffling everyone.
The duo were always going to be offside regardless of whether they were seen to be impacting Vicario, it just doesn’t make sense.
