Everton backed to beat Tottenham to Julian Brandt deal after huge transfer development
Everton could be set to beat Tottenham to the signing of Julian Brandt next summer.
The German is out of contract at Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and he could finally be about to secure the Premier League move that he has been linked with on so many occasions over the years.
Everton are being linked with a move for Ivan Toney this winter, as they go in search of additional quality to bring into their squad, and Brandt is seen as another potential target.
David Moyes welcomed nine new additions into his group over the summer, and the next few windows could be about to play out in a similar fashion for the Merseysiders.

Everton able to promise Julian Brandt more playing time than Tottenham
Brandt has recently emerged as a target for Everton, who are already understood to have made enquiries about the attacking midfielder’s future in Dortmund.
A Premier League switch is thought to be an appealing proposition for the Germany international, but he is likely to have plenty of options available to him, as Tottenham are also keen to make a move, according to WA.
The possibility of a new deal at Dortmund is also seemingly not out of the question, but that will do little to stop the interest that is growing in England.
- Brandt has made over 360 Bundesliga appearances since his league debut in 2014
- Brandt notched 21 goal contributions for Dortmund in all competitions last term
- He already has four from just seven league games in 2025-26
Ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that the Toffees are capable of competing with Spurs to secure Brandt’s signature, and also feels that they would crucially be able to offer him more gametime.
“Without doubt (Everton capable of competing with Spurs), I think he (Brandt) would have more chance of playing regularly at Everton than he would at Spurs,” King said.
“I think he’s a player who could have a big impact for any Premier League club. If the contract was right, I couldn’t see any issue for him going to Everton.
“He’s certainly a big enough name to play in the Premier League, and he’s got bags of experience, and also at international level.
“You can obviously start the deal before the end of the season anyway; they might be able to get it all tied up ahead of him coming in the summer.”
Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a game-changer for the Toffees
Everton raised eyebrows by securing Jack Grealish’s signature in the summer, and they showed in several deals in the recent window that they are capable of competing with their Premier League rivals financially.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a game-changer for them in that respect, given both the financial capabilities and the prestige that it provides.
The Toffees’ new home is a stunning place to play football, and is the perfect symbol of the exciting project that The Friedkin Group are continuing to build at the club.
A few years ago, Everton would have had no hope of competing with Tottenham in a contract offer for a player, but they are becoming an increasingly attractive proposition, and the value of their stadium cannot be underestimated in that.
