Jordan Pickford will think Pep Guardiola is deluded after what he said
Jordan Pickford has constantly had to prove his doubters wrong at Everton.
Pickford recently signed a new contract with Everton, with many observers questioning why he has not moved to a “bigger” club.
Pickford has come under fire after Everton’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham, but he regularly bails the Toffees out with his contributions.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is the latest to question his credentials, albeit indirectly.

Jordan Pickford will find Pep Guardiola’s comments bizarre
Jordan Pickford is England’s undisputed number one goalkeeper, but the narrative rages on about his position between the sticks for the national team.
Guardiola believes that James Trafford, whom he signed from Burnley this summer, will be England’s number one in the near future, which will surely leave Pickford laughing his head off.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 28 October, ahead of City’s Carabao Cup clash with Swansea City, he said: “We have an incredible keeper. For England, sooner or later, he will be the one.”
Guardiola is surely deluded, Pickford is not going anywhere for England
Pickford’s heroics have helped the Three Lions to two European Championship finals, and a semi-final and a quarter-final in the World Cup.
The 31-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, as he set the record for consecutive clean sheets for the national team in the win against Wales earlier this month, then extended it against Latvia.
Trafford may become the number one when Pickford retires, but there is no chance that he is taking the jersey off the Blues star anytime soon.

The narrative that the Toffees star is replaceable for his country needs to be banished, as he has constantly proven himself on the biggest stages and in the top-flight.
Trafford boasts slightly better stats as per the Sofascore graphic above, but it is important to remember that he plays in a better club team, and he has a smaller sample size.
The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Dean Henderson and Nick Pope have been touted as potential replacements, but none have been able to oust the veteran.
Trafford may ultimately be the one to take the mantle, but it will not be in the next few years, Pickford’s spot is safe, despite what Guardiola has said.
It is nothing new to the Blues ace though, he is used to being doubted, and he always comes out on top in the end.
