Jordan Pickford shows why he’s Everton and England number one after prefect response to Wayne Rooney question
Jordan Pickford has time and again proven at Everton that he’s one of the best goalkeepers of this generation.
Pickford broke Gordon Banks’ record with England of consecutive clean sheets recently, cementing himself among the greats.
The 31-year-old has also been crucial to the Toffees’ survival in recent seasons, pulling off some incredible saves during relegation scraps.
It wasn’t surprising to see Pickford’s contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium be extended, and fans in Merseyside will hope to see him continue in L4 beyond 2029 if he keeps up his performances.

Jordan Pickford not bothered by outside noise at Everton
Pickford doesn’t care whether he’s underrated despite his consistently good displays for both club and country.
The shot-stopper recognises that he can’t control people’s opinions and is just focused on doing his best whenever he puts on his jersey.
It doesn’t matter whether the world recognises the Englishman’s talent, the Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful know what he’s capable of.
Speaking on Men in Blazers on 28 October, when asked about Wayne Rooney’s claim that the shot-stopper was underappreciated and whether he felt the same, the shot-stopper replied: “It doesn’t really faze me. As long as I’m performing, that’s all I can do.”
Pickford will most certainly make the England squad for the 2026 World Cup, making it his fifth major tournament with them.
The goalkeeper has 80 caps for the Three Lions, highlighting his importance to them in their recent bid to end their trophy drought.
Jordan Pickford record since move to Hill Dickinson Stadium
Pickford’s lack of trophies for Everton doesn’t diminish how good he’s been in the Premier League.
In the current campaign, the goalkeeper has been David Moyes’ first-choice in the English top flight as they sit 14th in the table after nine matches.

The shot-stopper has conceded 12 goals and kept two clean sheets in the league this season, with a saves-per-game ratio of 66 per cent, as per Sofascore.
Pickford has made 23 saves for the Merseyside outfit since moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and has also denied one of the two penalties he’s faced, arguably making him the best player on their books apart from Jack Grealish.
