Gabby Agbonlahor shares Everton tweak that could see Tyler Dibling start vs Sunderland

Everton fans are desperate to see more of Tyler Dibling, and David Moyes may finally make that happen as Everton face Sunderland on Monday.

Moyes’ team will travel to the Stadium on Light on 3 November, with the Toffees looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after losing to Manchester City and Tottenham.

Dibling hasn’t really done much at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after the Blues spent £42million, including add-ons, to sign him from Southampton in the summer.

However, the Scottish manager could potentially get the English youngster into the starting lineup in Wearside with a slight tweak to his system.

Iliman Ndiaye to play number 10 for Everton as Tyler Dibling can start vs Sunderland

Gabby Agbonlahor has been disappointed to see Dibling struggle for minutes since moving to the Toffees.

The ex-Aston Villa striker has high expectations for the 19-year-old and feels he hasn’t been given a chance to prove himself at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Agbonlahor suggested moving Iliman Ndiaye to a central, playmaking role to make room for the former Southampton forward to play in his preferred position on the right-wing.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 30 October, the Villa icon said: “Their next game, Sunderland away. That’s Monday night under the lights. It’s going to be a very tough game. I want to see Tyler Dibling given more time. Very talented player. Not really been given the minutes.”

Agbonlahor added: “Can you maybe move around Ndiaye and put him as a number 10 and get Dibling on the right side that he likes?”

Moyes could potentially also play Ndiaye as the number nine, with Beto and Thierno Barry not really setting the world alight with their performances.

Tyler Dibling to learn from Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery

Dibling was delighted to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the move hasn’t gone as he would’ve expected.

Everton recognise the English youngster has a long way to go before he can stake a claim in the starting lineup in L4, asking him to take inspiration from Jack Grealish, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Speaking to the media on 17 October, Moyes said: “We have talked about a lot of other players with [Dibbling] too. Robben and Ribéry, and how they played and how they dribbled and took players on. We are always looking at the players who could be role models for the boys and someone they could look at.”

The Toffees could have a superstar on their hands in Dibling, but it remains to be seen whether he can fulfil his potential.
