Beto reveals why he’s determined to reward ‘passionate’ Everton fans amid scoring struggles

David Moyes will have had frustrations with Beto, like any other Everton fans.

Beto has come under fire on multiple occasions this season, for poor performances, and missing golden opportunities.

This was again the case when Everton lost to Tottenham on Sunday, as the striker again spurned chances.

Now, Everton play Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Monday, and Moyes has a decision to make on whether to start Beto or Thierno Barry up top.

However, with the latest developments, Bluenoses may have hope yet that Beto can score more goals this season.

Beto can’t stop thinking about scoring goals for Everton

Moyes has defended Beto by calling him “brilliant” in the way he applies himself in training and his work ethic to improve despite the understandable frustration from fans.

On Friday, the Premier League’s official X account posted a detailed video with Beto, which featured an in-depth view of his life and journey to the Premier League.

In the video, Beto spoke about how much it means to him to score goals, and how he loves the “passionate” Evertonians.

Beto said: “That’s why scoring goals is so addictive, I have to score, all I think about is goals.

“Because when I score, they sing, when I run, when I make a tackle, they sing. They’re very passionate.”

But with time running out for Beto to perform, can he still turn his career around at Hill Dickinson?

Is there still hope for Beto at Everton?

There’s no doubt that Beto has underperformed for Everton so far this season, but he has shown that he can score goals in the past.

When Moyes came in, Beto went on an unbelievable streak of scoring goals, in what was the best form of his life in the Premier League, netting five goals in six games in February.

Beto is not performing in front of goal right now and has an expected goals tally of 2.71, almost three goals more than what he has actually scored in the Premier League.

Fortunately for him, Beto still has until January to sort his act out, as if he’s not scoring by then, and has shown no signs of improvement, then he may be out the door.
